Nicholas Ridout
Nicholas Scott Ridout, 24, of Preston, died May 27, 2013, in Nashville.
He was born Oct. 16, 1988, in Renton, the son of Scott and Susan Ridout. He attended Neighborhood Christian School and Cedar Park Christian High School, where he was very active in the drama department, and home schooled, graduating from NARS. He currently traveled the country as a musician busking, recently spending several months in Nashville.
Nicholas was an accomplished musician having taught himself guitar, piano, harmonica, banjo and organ. He wrote hundreds of songs, poems, short stories and painted dozens of pictures in fascinating series. All of his artistic expressions were full of deep, authentic emotion, heralding a message he felt compelled to share with humanity.
He recorded several CDs and currently was in a band with his wife Shannon, Sour Mash Melodies, and a band with close friends Benjamin and Ashley Flippo, Spit Shine. He loved animals and especially his traveling companion the German wirehaired pointer Wesson and cat Scarlett. He enjoyed hunting, rock climbing and reading.
He will be deeply missed by all for his passion, focus, charming smile, soulful eyes and authentic raw humanity. The world has lost a messenger of truth, and heaven has gained a voice of worship.
Nicholas is survived by his precious loving wife Shannon Ridout; his parents Scott and Susan Ridout, of Issaquah; his brother Chad and (wife) Emily Ridout, of Issaquah; and his sister Carley and (husband) Stephen Heath, of Issaquah. He is also survived by musical family Benjamin and Ashley Flippo, of Nashville. He is also survived by paternal grandmother Sharon Ridout, of Poulsbo, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 9 at 3 p.m. at Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church, 36017 S.E. Fish Hatchery Road, Fall City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Union Gospel Mission of Seattle, Washington, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Flintoft’s Funeral Home of Issaquah.
