Faye Marie Oelrich, of Issaquah, passed away at home on July 8, 2013.
Faye was born on Jan. 26, 1943, in Rugby, N.D., to Frederic and Dorothy Swearson. She grew up in Bantry, N.D., and attended school in nearby Upham, N.D. She later completed the business program at Wahpeton State School of Science. Faye used her business skills while working as a legal secretary for Thomas, Wittington Law Office and as an office manager for Harold Tate, CPA.

Faye married Edgar Emil Rau on Dec. 26, 1962. After his death, she moved to Washington state in 1970 and lived in Redmond, Bellevue and Maple Valley before moving to Issaquah, where she has made her home for the last 18 years.
She found love again and married long time Issaquah resident Merritt Oelrich on Feb. 16, 1991.
Faye was a member of the Issaquah Guild, Children’s Hospital, Elks Club and Eagles Club. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests including casino hopping and traveling. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and playing games with her grandson.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as a sweet and witty woman, who always had a quick smile and a hearty laugh — she was a true and faithful friend. Faye is survived by her son Bradley Rau and step-daughters Amy Bell and Kerri Ferate. She is also survived by four grandchildren.
