Lois was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Akron, Ohio, to Willard and Louise McCord. She was raised in Akron, but moved to Seattle when her father came here for work from Ohio.

Lois graduated from Broadway High School and attended the University of Washington while working at Fredrick & Nelson. Her interest in education led her to help found a preschool in Issaquah.

She married Lawrence M. Baugh (founder of Baugh Construction Co.) in 1942 in Seattle.

Lois was a member of the Lake Sammamish Garden Club, Chapter BM of PEO, Engineer’s Wife’s Club of Washington and Woman’s University Club of Seattle, was a patron of the Seattle Symphony and was known as the “Soup Lady” for the St. Peters United Methodist Church’s annual Christmas Bazaar in Bellevue.

She enjoyed gardening, oil painting, her children and extensive traveling all over the world.

The family will always remember her as “Mom” or Aunt Lois.

She leaves three devoted children, Gary(Barbara), Judith and David (Deanna); three grandchildren (Kathleen Mangio, Andrew Baugh and David Baugh); and six great-grandchildren (Madison and Megan Baugh, Anna and Joann Mangio, and Sloan and Shiloh Baugh).

She was preceded in death by Larry (the love of her life) in 2000.

Memorial donations should be made to the Salvation Army, Humane Society or Hospice of Providence Hospital.
