Claire Calhoun, of Issaquah, passed away peacefully at 12:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, as a result of a lifelong struggle with bone marrow failure.
Claire was two weeks shy of her 8th birthday. She was surrounded by her father Michael, mother Debbie, and older brothers Braeden and Sam.
Claire was easily recognized by her bright, flowing red hair, indomitable spirit and cheerful personality. Everyone who met Claire felt her joy and happiness with the simple things of life.
Claire is survived by her parents, Michael and Debbie Calhoun, and siblings Braeden (16) and Sam (14).
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, and friends, family and children of all faiths are invited. Viewing and funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 2808 148th Ave. S.E., Bellevue (behind the LDS Temple). Public viewing is from 10-11:30 a.m.; the funeral will be at noon. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215 145th Place S.E., Bellevue, WA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations sent to the Claire Calhoun Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo in Issaquah.
